Introductie
For one of our clients within the public domain, we are looking for an experienced and independent Security Engineer to strengthen the organisation’s technical defences and support the design and implementation of robust security controls.

The client is a public institution operating in a sensitive and regulated environment, with increasing reliance on digital infrastructure. As cyber threats continue to evolve, the organization is investing in a structural uplift of its security capabilities. To support this, they are seeking a hands- on Security Engineer who can reinforce their internal expertise and translate security principles into actionable technical implementations.
Functie
As Security Engineer, you will play a vital role in hardening infrastructure, improving threat detection, and implementing advanced security tooling. You will collaborate with internal IT teams and external stakeholders to improve monitoring, automate defenses, and reduce the attack surface. You will help ensure that systems and networks are secured according to current industry standards and support incident readiness efforts.
Functie-eisen
- At least 4–6 years of demonstrable experience in hands-on security engineering roles;
- Strong understanding of infrastructure and network security concepts;
- Proven experience with tools such as firewalls (eg Palo Alto, Fortinet), EDR (eg Defender, CrowdStrike), and SIEM (eg Sentinel, Splunk);
- Capable of conducting vulnerability assessments and implementing mitigation strategies;
- Scripting experience (PowerShell, Bash, Python) for automation and system hardening;
- Familiarity with Zero Trust principles and secure cloud practices (Azure or AWS);
- Fluency in Dutch is preferred but not required.
Aanbod
- 6–12 month assignment (extension possible);
